Hacking Dev menu

Has anyone else run into issues? I miss clicked last night ended up the firmware tab and my switch froze, tbh I don't like messing with it too much.

Never scroll down to the last entry - Firmware - it is a known freeze for some reason.
Other than that it should all work fine.

Sure, bet we've all done it.
In my case it was a "Don't press the red button" situation as I was forewarned but wanted to see if I was immune.
I wasn't.
But hey, seems like no biggie, just reboot and avoid in future.
Having said, apart from Install NSP, I ain't touching anything else lol.

Same here the first time i started devmenu wanted to see what´s all in there, scrolled down -> freeze -> hard reset.

But if im using DevMenu with layeredFS for installing a nsp game/demo, it will work? Or i have to get a SX OS?

You can run DevMenu via layeredFS but, you need SX OSes sigpatches + layeredFS to install and run NSP files via DevMenu.
