I think I wasn't clear enough in my last post because I was rushed and I panicked.

So I helped my friend with installing A9LH and Luma on his Old 3DS but now we have a problem.

We were on the 2.1 CTRNAND Transfer section on the guide and we should delete the CTRNAND Transfer files but since I was sleepy I said the wrong thing and we somehow managed to delete the NANDmin.bin and NANDmin.bin.sha files.

Now my friend is stuck on 2.1.0 without any backup to restore with afterwards.

What do I do now? Do I just update the system to start over? Do I continue the guide until I'm at the 9.2 CTRNAND Transfer (I don't know how since I need to restore the backup before I should do the transfer if the backup was not functional)

A step-by-step guide on how to fix this would be really appreciated!

I'm really sorry for the bump but I wasn't clear enough before and I got several different answers.

Continue with the guide, and then do the 9.2 CTRNAND Transfer guide when you get to the part where you restore your 3DS.

But the guide says that you should do that if a backup is not functional. I don't have any backups. Is it safe to just do the 9.2 CTRNAND Transfer without restoring anything first?

A backup that's not present isn't functional, right? So, yes just continue with 9.2 ctrtransfer.

One thread on that topic is enough btw...
I know and I'm sorry for the bump but I explained on the OP why I did a new thread. And thanks for helping me out!

So it's safe to do a CTRNAND Transfer on 2.1?

If the installation of a9lh is complete, and hourglass9 is finally able to load from a9lh (0 sec boot) it doesn't matter the version of the system anymore, you get to work even before the system inits.

Now thats a clear answer. Thank you!

It may be clear, but each word has its weight. Be sure you followed all steps and everything is working as it should. If hourglass9 is working with select at boot, you can follow the guide to ctrnand to 9.2. Follow it to the letter and everything should be fine.

Yup the only thing I messed up was the backup thing.
