Hello GBATemp community, :)

I'd like to replace stock thermal paste on my PS4 FAT (CUH-1200) with Grizzly Conductonaut (metal liquid) instead.
I'm aware that Conductonaut will melt aluminium so i was wondering if the heatsink is aluminium or steel on CUH-1200 ?

Thank you.

Have only seen people put liquid metal on Pro model, not original Phat, I would assume that the heatsink is aluminum, so putting liquid metal on it will melt it.

Thanks for your answer but i read here and here that 1xxx/11xx are aluminium and 12xx are made from steel.
I'd like a confirmation from someone who own this revision and already unmount it.

Try "Cooler Master Mastergel Maker". Best non-liquidmetal paste.
It has brilliant conductivity and is easy to use.
It really doesnt get any better than this.
Have used it on consoles, Desktops, Notebooks etc.
Simply brilliant.

Now I understand why my PS4 was hot...

Best thermal pads replacement have to be 1mm thick , right ?

Dont matter. Just centring pads and change termal paste. Best way do ps4 silent - sold fat and buying ps4 slim 2100/2200 model

Yeah but lose 5.05 :/

I replaced thermal paste with Kryonaut and thermal pads with Minus Pad 8 from Thermal Grizzly. I still hear the fan but it's quieter now.
