Hacking CPU heating up

A few days ago, I put the DS Download Station roms on my microSD and kept them running so that I could check out every interesting demo there was on there.
However, when I turned off my DS and took out my DSTwo, the cart was pretty hot. I guess that was because Wireless Communications were activated the whole time.

Could this potentially brick the DSTwo if the CPU gets too heated up? Or would it just freeze and be able to boot up properly after letting it cool down?
I'm planning on getting an EZ-Vi anyway, but I would be giving the DSTwo to my friend since he wants the SNES emulator so bad (and he'd probably want to play GBA games on a 3DS)

it'd overheat maybe.
if you say that's a brick then yes.
as it will probably make the whole thing useless

never heard of anything like this happening before, i've done online games on my ds lite for hours and it doesn't get warm

I don't know, I just kept the DS Download Station running for a while, then when I took it out it was a lot warmer.
Might have to do with the DS I was using it in, though.
