Hacking Coverting a .dst save file into G6 type file?

So I lost the saves on my g6 cart today after trying to transfer something to it. I'm not sure what happened, but it's the first time that it's happened since I got it about 2-3 weeks ago. None of the other saves really mattered, but I was on the 4th case of Phoenix Wright and would hate to have to start over again. I checked game faqs and there was a complete save files with all the chapters unlocked, so I have 2 questions.

1) The file type is .dst. Does anyone know how to convert this into the save files that the G6 uses? Or does anyone know where I can get save files?

2) Does the completed Phoenix Wright file allow you to pick/choose which chapter you wanna play?

Yeah you can choose what chapter you want to play if it's beaten already.

im getting a bit worried since this is not the first time im reading about g6 losing saves or other issues
