http://sky3ds.com/download.html template from 02/16/2015 (template0216.txt) have the correct one :) ... Btw I kind of almost made one correctly ahhahaha... missed the cartridge id :(

Wow really? - Now that is cool. I think you should open up a topic and explain what you did. Also if ALL you were missing was the CID...did you know you were missing it? - If so someone here could have gave you that info.

Guys I need some help. I've followed all the steps to flash Majora's Mask (EUR) to my 2GB mSD card but when I put the Sky3DS in my new 3DS XL (AUS) the blue LED rapidly flashes for a few seconds and then stops and no game shows up.

I'm using DiskWriter 1.05 and the latest template updated March 12th. The SHA1 of my game is 6BBF7FA112BD0A431505F8D7886DE23492CB2823 whereas the SHA1 in the template file is 2F6C13C95FD4D4BE8FC6B93A98C1CEB55AF919AF. Is this difference causing the problem?

Yes, it does. ROM's are recognized by their SHA1 and CRC16 of the NCCH header, not the product code since many games have revisions that share the same product code, but are in fact different ROM's. Your ROM is either some private dump, a completely different game, an altered ROM or a corrupt download.

But the CRC32 matches the one given on 3ds.essh.co. The rar file was 677MB and after unzipping it is 1GB. I've tried games from several different sites all with the same result.

In that case it's team Sky that has a borked template, which doesn't surprise me. :P

But the OP and a couple others have got it working. This is my first time working with Sky3DS (got it yesterday) and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if my Sky3DS is faulty :(

I'll try putting the game on my Gateway to check.

I suggest trying a different template. ;)

I'm already using the latest template. I'm using a 2GB microSD. Maybe I should try with another SD.
The SD isn't at fault. Are you calculating the SHA1 checksum correctly? It's not the checksum of the whole file, it's the checksum of 0x200 bytes starting from 0x1000 (0x1000-0x11FF).

EDIT: Here's an example on how to check this in HxD, just select the block, go to Analysis, select Checksums... and then SHA-1:

Ok...how do I do that? I'm currently calculating SHA1 for the whole file using HashTab for Windows.

Your avatar is probably matching your expression right now :P

I updated my post with instructions, and no, it doesn't - it's actually a bit of a pain to check those things, that's why I coded Sky Army Knife. I just hate to self-promote so I didn't suggest grabbing it outright, but you might want to if your template just refuses to work:

It should calculate everything you need for you and generate a template if Sky's just doesn't work no matter what you do.

I finally got it to work by switching to a SanDisk 16GB class 10 microSD. I guess the 2GB card I was using earlier just didn't cut it.
