Hacking Converting N64 save file to Wii VC?

I have a N64 save file on my PC for Majora's Mask that I'd like to use with the VC game.

I read that this should be possible, but I can't really find any hard info.

Anyone know how this works?

You have to apply a 32-bit byteswap to the entire save file, and then pad it with 0xAA until you reach a size that's a power a 2 (2^17 bytes, or 128 KB, in the case of Flash RAM saves).

You should be able to accomplish it in an automated way with this little program I made: http://www.hacksden.com/showthread.php/7705-Simple-Byteswapper-for-N64-saves.

A couple of thing thou;

The extracted save file (EEP_NZSE) is 256 KB, but the converted save file is only 128 KB. Does this matter?

Hmmm. It seems my Wii U's vWii mode does not want to copy my save game at all. Suggestions?

You have to use the Save game extractor app from the Homebrew Browser.

I actually fixed after writing. I used Xyzzy unofficial to dump my key, FE100 to extract the save, then the N64 byteswapper to edit the save. I finally used Hex Workshop to add 128kb of extra padding. After compressing it again with FE100, I just copied it from the SD to the vWii memory and Bob's your uncle. Tnx alot DarkMatterCore

Hey guys,
I know this thread is a bit old but I'm having problems with the N64 byteswapper (sbn64). I was trying to convert savegames (F-Zero X, Majora's Mask and Super Mario 64) from wii64 to wiivc with that program but unfortunately my wii didn't recognize any of the converted files. Is anyone able to help me with that?
