Homebrew Converting .3DS to .3DSX possible?

I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot but, basically I'm wondering if it's possible to convert .3DS files to .3DSX files?
I read that the 3DS Homebrew Channel only plays .3DSX files and I was wanting to try it out on my new system.

If there's no way to convert the .3DS files, is there anywhere I can directly download .3DSX files?
