The DS can't store a whole DS or GBA game.. and.. even for GB/GBC games, AFAIK the DS has no ROM memory

Why would read-only memory be important if you're downloading games?

This is really exciting, I can't wait to hear more news. I am SO ready for Earthbound on the DS. Now that you think about it, it would make a lot of sense for Nintendo to release Earthbound on the DS through this method (pay with Wii points? Ionno). Because the regular cart method would be risky, considering the 'success' of Earthbound in the states.

This sounds soo cool I cant wait for this. I wonder if flash carts will make some kind of new update that will allow you to somehow save what you downloaded from the Wii onto the flash cart right then and there.

Excellent news. I am however afraid about the downloading speeds. I wonder how long it will take to download a 128MB ROM?

Or the DS (a new one could have a extra slot just for the card) that uses a MEM expansion card/pak that has internal memory. Not legally readable by computers, so games cannot be copied. A wii is paired with the DS so the wii cannot transfer games to other DS consoles. The MEM card pak is paired to your ds also, like how wifi games are paired-ish. (that would suck though) And, You can buy additional MEM packs. games and demos available through the wifi and internets.

Surprising news. I never would have expected Nintendo to offer downloadable games. Even after this announcement,
I remain skeptical. It just seems very unlike Nintendo. But who knows, with the DSvision out, this could be
possible

Too bad I don't own a Wii

"download complete games" may not (and probably doesn't) mean great big commercial titles, remember the ds has limited hardware. It is more likely to mean mini-games, I double Nintendo expect people to download a full commercial title over the fairly slow DS wifi, you'd be sitting there all day. These downloads will be smaller games, probably similar to the hundreds of homebrew titles available.

You probably will need a new DS(DS 3) with a built-in 2gb storage
