Hacking Compile sources with DevKitPro?

I wanna try to compile sources myself. Problem is, that I'm not really a coder.
But I guess I understood DevKitPro only a bit...
But I can't get vor example the source of wiigators backuploader 0.1 compiled...
Maybe the source I have is too old...

What I did was, changing only this part in libcios.c:

/* Constants */
#define CIOS_TITLEIDÂÂÂÂ(0x100000000ULL | CIOS_VERSION)
#define CIOS_VERSIONÂÂÂÂ249

Changed to

#define CIOS_VERSIONÂÂÂÂ254

I thought this will at the end make the compiled backuplauncher 0.1
work not on cios249 but on cios254.

Am I right on this?

Anyway, I always get errors when opening "Makefile" with Programmer's Notepad.
and press ALT +1 to make the dol...
There never comes out a dol.

It's the first time I'm working with the DevKitPro so please don't flame me.
Any help on this would be very appreciated.

i have problems when trying to compile as well, usually the coders DON'T include the full source so there and many libraries missing* (some but not all) complete windup!

But do you know where to find the last source of Wiigators BUL 0.1 ?

can you just tell me the change in your updated version of wiigator backup laucher 3?

install winavr and use programmers notepad 1 and if you then go to tools there wil be a run make and clean but install devkitppc first !

i dont think u can have it on 254, i read that the wii has 250 limit or something, also there is no cios 254, unless u installed your own one so the launcher wouldnt load anyway

patchmii clone installs as cios254. I checked it'S existence.
When I figure out how to compile the BUL source, it should propably work with ios254 And then we kann have BUL 0.1 and 0.3 parallel.

Yes it does work i have wiigators 0.3 running from ios254 and waninkokos 0.1 from ios 249

Yeah, I have the new one at 250 and the old one at 249. The change is trivial.
