Hacking cIOS rev18 comming in about a week

Rev18 will support various IOS as base (selectable during installation): IOS37, IOS38, IOS57, IOS60 and IOS70.

Great, now all the noobs will be asking which one they should use and why.

IOS37: instruments compatibility
IOS38: stable base
IOS57: better compatibility with newer games(?)
IOS60:better network code(?)
IOS70?)

What I really wonder from this is if it will be possible to install to multiple slots (249, 250, 199, etc), so that we can use the benefits of each one ala Hermes CIOS.

SNEEK works just fine if cIOS is installed or not. The problem is that the cIOS itself hangs when you try to run any code from it.

So, does that mean that we can write to the SD card now?
And maybe read the VC & WiiWare games from it?

The ability to write to the SD card has nothing to do with cIOS. You can already enable write-support by editing a certain line in the source before compiling SNEEK. And you can read VC/WiiWare from it as well since if you use TriiForce to load from "real NAND" in SNEEK, you're loading from your SD Card.

How about Wifi?

When I setup the internet settings I get this error:
"Error code 110210 - There is a problem with the Wii Connect 24 service. Please try again later"
It's not my Wii, seeing as I can connect alright on read nand.

I dunno. I've been able to connect to WiFi on SNEEK. Either way, cIOS doesn't have a thing to do with that either.

Weird... I'll backup my Nand again and see if it's alright then.

How about installing Preloader on SNEEK?
I tried but it just flashed up with writing and then gave me a black screen.

I've never installed PriiLoader to a real NAND (yay bootmii at boot2) so I'd know less about installing it to an emulated one.

Lol. I have bootmii as boot2 as well, but needed Preloader for the hacks.
I get the update screen when trying to load games.

You could always use StartPatch's hacks. Or you could run your games in Gecko OS, after which they won't prompt an update in the disc channel anymore. ...Or you could just let the games update because updates don't really do anything bad, and it doesn't matter on a SNEEK NAND anyway.

Lol. I have bootmii as boot2 as well, but needed Preloader for the hacks.

I've tried letting it just Update, but then it freezes.
There must be something wrong with my Nand backup...

You can always get the IOS58 WAD (this one is not available at NUS) and rename it to IOS57 and let's see what happens (maybe works).
