So the past day and a half, I've been experiencing a rather irritating issue with Chrome, but not Firefox. First and foremost, I am on the most recent version of Chrome, Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) , and many of the videos I play will initially display this error message

Now, oddly enough, every video that has this anomaly will eventually play back fine after 10 or so seconds after seeing this. Why I'm getting this on Chrome but not FF is baffling, and so far I can't seem to locate a solution.
Many guides say to flush DNS cache, clear cookies, check for malware, and none of which yielded any measure of success, and while I am tempted to move entirely to Chrome, I'd rather not quite make the jump yet, though I am very much tempted to at this point.

You'd think Google would have better QA with their own damn products and software, and I'm lost as to what could be causing this. Did do this two days ago, the only malware result I see is the result in the attached screenshot below.

Does also this happen on a complete new Chrome profile without any extensions and configuration? Not familiar with chrome... on Firefox the first thing if something looks fishy is: create another profile and see if it works on defaults.

I haven't tried that until after reading your post. The video had an ad *shudder* but it seemed to have played back without issue on the new profile, which opened a new window for me to test it on. Since it seems to be playing back fine, I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this on my main profile, next I'll try removing some extensions and go from there. Ugh, this is a PITA.

Edit: Again, not all videos do this, which is even weirder.
