Hacking cheat database from here not working?

so, I downloaded the cheat database from http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ , however when i extracted it to the /__ak2/cheats/ directory on my micro sd. however when i press the cheat button in the DS menu i just get a message saying "cheat db file not found" (or words to that effect).

can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Which version of the cheat database did you download?

I would recommend you grab USRCHEAT.DAT (make sure you unpack the archive -- don't put the .zip file in there). Remove all the other files that are in the "/__ak2/cheats/" folder since you only need one cheat database.

You will probably need to change an option in the menu to tell it which database format to use since it supports several formats.

thanks, for some odd reason, i had to go into the settings menu and select the cheats database, despite the fact it was apparently already selected by default, weird.
