Hacking Capture 3DS Feed?

So, after watching this video, I got to thinking about whether it would be possible and/or likely that screen capture devices for the 3DS would ever be made. Was there anything like this for the DS? Is it feasible to expect any groups to make anything like this?

I'm intending to start doing speedruns/superplays with this, so better recording is something I'm interested in. I'm not convinced this guy is using one of the official capture devices, though; more likely he's got an amazing camera and figured out the best settings, then locked his 3DS in place. I don't think he'd use it to make demo footage for Star Fox if he was worried about Nintendo being mad at him for it. Not worth the risk.

Nintendo will most likely not ever add a Screen Recording program into the 3DS.

I can't really tell you how I captured all 3DS footage... etc"

There's no way he recorded this on a camera:

obviously it's a direct capture of the video output from the system. My guess would be that he either had access to a 3ds nintendo/companies use to do direct capture or did hardware modification to a 3ds to be able to capture the video signal as it goes to the screens.

I think it's still a camera, but he used two seperate ones for the both screens, and tweeked the settings to make it look better, that along with direct feed audio gave it that appearance of direct feed footage.
on the Nintendo 3DS blog explaining that video, David explained that it was still a camera, but a damn good one.

I have also seen a YT3D video of Ocarina of Time 3D (Yes, the 3DS version) that appeared to be a direct feed.
So I'm guessing:

1) Either a hardware mod or
2) The emulator underground pirates have cooked up.

Star Fox 64 3D doesn't require the touch screen to navigate the menus, so that's why you never see any stylus or fingers on the bottom screen...

Yeah, I think if it him filming the 3DS, he would show his setup.

David posts news on piracy, but never says his opinion on it. Not that a hardware mod is piracy, but he seems professional, and wouldn't want people to break their 3DSs trying to copy his setup.

Also, the sound is definitely a direct recording, but that's obviously easy to do because of the headphone jack.

that's in Tecmo's own building, so they are using their devkit or a TV-out box which licensed 3DS developers can obviously get their hands on =)

at 0:29 you can see him use his finger to change inventory... so that's *proof* that even the original guy, mohdfikree, is using a camera setup!
