Whenever I go to the Homebrew Launcher from emuNAND and start HANS with Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 (JPN), but it takes me back to CtrBootManager. So when I start Cakes or ReiNAND, it gives me a Black and red screen. Fix?

You mean it brings you back to CtrBootManager A9LH? or just the boot.3dsx version of ctrboot, i assume you mean A9LH version, that's odd try another game with HANS? if that works it's probally settings related with hans and dragon ball.

boot.3dsx version.

What setup do you run? sysnand 9.2 that runs menuhax to boot in to cfw on 10.6?

I don't know why HANS kicks you back to reboot, but i have a suggestion that might work though,
why don't you install Ntr 3.2/3.3 on your emunand, that way you can run out of region games on your emunand, this will make it possible to play JPN or any region from your emunand, if you have a new 3ds it also allows you to play the game at 804mhz quad core instead of the O3ds clock speed. you should try that rather then getting in to homebrew for out of region. just a suggestion though

I use Free multi patcher, should I switch to NTR? (And I installed it as a CIA)

Ntr has a lot of usages. i guess it's more usefull especially if you have a New 3ds, that makes pokemon laggless and probally other games faster too (because of the clock speed plugin), you don't need to switch instantly but trying is litterly free, so nothing to lose just to gain, give it a shot =)

But it runs genuine gamecards only.

you don't it works like this:
You just get the Ntr files, (you put Ntr.bin on the root of your sd, and put the autoexit installer file ( a .cia installer) where you put your cia. you install the cia to your default emunand, and when you run emunand it will have a "game" called NTR, when you run the game it will run the NTR.bin which will create a plugin that runs along with your emunand and enables out of region games and more, by pressing X + Y it will show a menu with settings

Wait so it runs like a 3DS game?

Yes just to start the plugin and then you are back at emunand with NTR running in the background, when you press X+Y it shows a menu that will show settings like how much MHZ your ds uses and other stuff but once you've run it you can boot out of region games.
Video of NTR at work:

Ok so I installed it to SysNAND. What next? Do I try to run HANS or something else?

No man just install it to EmuNand and then install your dragonball game to emunand too and you can just play the dragonball game as if it's a normale cia file,
watch the video it will clear things up. you need to work in EMUNAND not sysnand

I'm trying to translate it.

Ohh you try to make the JPN game run in english? then i probally know why hans doesn't work, the game is probally only released in japan yet and it will need to be translated by the makers, HANS can't translate a game it can only check if the game has multiple languages and apply those when run, you can't just take JPN games and make them english

I translated some files and I'm trying to patch them with HANS.

i get it, try this, boot the game with hans but turn of the code loading so then if it works you know you messed something up when translating and patching
