Hacking Can Wii U games update themselves?

I'm having fun with the Mewtwo custom moves glitch, more fun then actually playing the game glitchless. I know it's only a matter of time before an update comes out that fixes this glitch but I would be heartbroken to turn on my Wii U and find that the glitch is gone.

Will the game update itself without my say so? And if so, is there steps I can take to prevent it?

Personally I would want to lose the glitch in my terms and not Nintendo's.

Well is the glitch offline or online?
If it's online then they will just block online gameplay until you update. If it's offline then as long as you have your internet connection disconnected or are blocking update urls then you will be fine. But as far as forcing the update if you are connected fully to internet yes they can and often have forced the update prior to playing the game.
