can i use 1 emunand on say 2 3ds' 1 a normal 3ds and the other xl?
or will i have to do each 3ds seperate?

every NAND (that includes emuNANDs) is encrypted with a unique console key, so you can't use someone elses emuNAND
this is also the reason, why everyone needs to have a backup of his own 4.X NAND in case of a brick, you cannot use someone else's
You will have to "do" each 3ds seperate.

Rule No. 34, do post pictures. ;)
pervert

I think he made a joke... he wants to see pictures of soopa "doing" his 3DS systems... you know... sexually ... really flat joke

I don't know what happens when you do a system-transfer. If it is safe to do with two emunands.

But if it is. Wouldn't you be able to do a system-transfer and then use the emunand backup, it would the be the same on both if you do that, yes?

you can do system transfers between emuNANDS, yes
but they won't be the same, they will still be 2 different emuNANDS, even if the only difference is the encryption key
however, someone should note, that if the intention is to copy eshop games like this via a system transfer, yes it is possible, but the emuNAND, which is just the injected backup, can't (or shouldn't) go to eshop anymore, because it will check the download tickets, see they are invalid, and then delete them, because the tickets got transfered to the other emuNAND

Sorry to Necro this thread (came up in google), but would it be possible to disable that check now that apps like free shop exist? Or if not, suppose I bought a new game in the N3DS eShop? Could I use a free shop in 3DS to download a backup of the content I paid for, instead of needing to go through piracy approaches?

More important is the issue of street pass, background downloads, and online gaming. Would it be safe to ever go online with the old 3DS after transfer/restore? Or would I just have to make sure not to take both online at the same time? Would it even be possible to, for example, trade Pokemon with myself if the accounts are the same?
