can m3 lite take 2Gig MicroSD? Thinking of getting a few of these but want to be sure

It can theoritically take the 4GB/8GB ones as well too (whenever it comes out)

If the card is formatted to FAT32, it should have a 4GB limit.

4GB limit is true. it even says so on the main website IIRC...

FAT32 4Gb is the file size limit and no nds or gba rom can get to that size
FAT32 can go up to 32G in Volume size where as FAT16 Volume size is 2G
