Let me be honest. I bought a “New” 3DS xl a couple months ago only to hack it. I was new to it. And the process was fairly easy. I haven’t used my New 3ds in a while and I have lost access to my laptop. I want to update luma but honestly forgot if I had installed with A9LH or B9S.

I swear both of them were part of the entire process. But can’t remember. I know in order to update from luma 7.0.1 to 8.1.1 I need sighax/b9s but need some help on if I should do it or not. I have hacked plenty of consoles before but still relatively new to the 3ds hacking scene. And have no access to a pc to check my payloads and whatnot. It says “payload type SIGHAX”

Am I safe to update? Don’t look at me like an idiot. I’m trying to double check so I don’t mess myself up. .-.

You would have to update to keep up with new Luma updates and .firm tools like GM9, as legacy is no longer supported.

If you have arm9loaderhax.bin on the SD root, then you would need to update to B9S. Check with FBI or GM9 if you have no access to a PC

Just follow: https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s if you are still on A9LH

Or if using an older B9S install. Follow this: https://3ds.guide/updating-b9s
