Can I future proof a soft-modded Xbox by setting up multiple HDDs?

After my failed TSOP, I’ve decided to just keep the unit softmodded. I am paranoid about losing the Xbox in 10 years due to the HDD failing. If I have the old Xbox drive with the zero’d out bin and key. If my new HDD fails, can I just put the old HDD, and then load a new HDD again?

Basically, can I keep my sodtmod alive “forever” if I always have a second set up HDD with a zero’d our eeprom/bin/key that I can use to get a new drive going in case of failure?

I’m new to the Xbox scene so I just want to make sure I understand it right.
