Hi so I just have the opportunity to buy a Nintendo Switch tablet+Mario Odyssey+joycons+a zelda bag for 150€ and I was looking into how much will a replacement dock cost me, so I would like to ask for advice how to get the most out of this or if this is even a good offer. Which is the best 3rd party dock to buy?

I think a new Nintendo one was 80 bucks, but I'm not very sure.

I think an issue whith an unofficial dock was that bricked the switch, but I think that new ones patched that up.

I remember that third party docks bricks Switch, dunno if it's still the same nowadays. BTW you can just pick up the official one to be safe

Third party docks are still bricking switches. You could potentially look for a used one if you don't wanna spend 80 for one new, but there's more demand than there is supply so people can have one in each room of the house/put the innards into a smaller dock enclosure. Personally I'd look on facebook marketplace and craigslist for a used complete switch console including it. I saw some for around 200 usd give or take, and now that the Let's Go Pikachu and Diablo editions are out, there's probably more people selling their old consoles. Coupled with waiting after the Christmas holiday for a couple weeks, I'd expect to see some more floating around as the "my kid didn't really like the switch and only plays their xbox/playstation" seller posts go up.

While Insignia looks promising, I'd still be concerned about a future firmware update. Or if you want to mess around with overclocking, there aren't that many doing that so an issue might not have been reported yet.

Just a litle reminder: DONT GET A THIRD PARTY DOCK!
Some brick instantly, some after a firmwareupdate, some doesnt even work.
Best to get a replacementcase (a dock without its inards) and transfer the tecks from the original dock, to the replacementcase.
That even cheaper than just getting a used original dock.
