Good evening everyone

Ive been playing my n3ds xl the past couple of days, been very careful, it has not sustained any damage of any sort.

However, when I picked up the console to continue today, I noticed how the backlight on the upper screen being constant on.

Its only noticable when there a black background, aka like loading games or stages etc.
It doesnt affect the games or how they are portraited. Atleast yet.

But what could have caused it?

I have not updated anything and i know for a fact its not been damaged.

Its only in the center area of the screen, the lights from above shines down upon the screen. I hope you guys get what I mean.

Ofcourse!

I checked it out and noticed its constant. What could have caused this over night, with no interaction or damage at all?
This is what it looks like:

Sorry if its poor, ill get new pics if it needs improvement (just did it hastly)
But as you all can see the top light on the upper screen looks damaged in some manner.

it looks like some of the pixels burnt out. that same thing happened on one of my old phones.
Burned out.. lol
This console ha far less playtime then most hardcore players.

But yes ive been playing alot the past couple of days, but cmon it shouldnt be any problem.

Strange thing, it wasnt there when i went to bed last night, noticed it when i started it today.

if its burnt out, will a change of screen resolve the issue? I guess thats way cheaper then sending it to nintendo or where i bought it. (still have receipt ofcourse)

Im greatfful for any answer. :)
Thanks

there can always be a hardware defect when Nintendo is involved. if you don't have CFW, you can send it to the big N in the sky, but if you do have cfw, than yeah, a screen change should fix it (if it really is a dead pixel)

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah ofcourse its modified.

And yes Ive had strange issues with the screen before (extensive ghosting dunno why and have asked and searched alot without success) Seems like it occured after I installed the cfw, not sure if I did something wrong, if so it was unintentional, since Ive modified 3ds´s before this one, but still.

Yeah just look at the first batch of switch. Its a DISASTER!

Im considering another screen but it feels like a loose end still since this issue just appeared over night. One thing if I had dropped it or something like that..but NOPE.. :(

dead pixels can happen at any time

Hopefully it will get better, although most of the defects are made purposely for clickbait. also only a few people have had actual issues with the switch:switch:

i'm just glad Nintendo had good commercials for the switch, remember the wii? (that Superbowl ad was killer)

Hmm yeah its good thoughts you have. im just puzzled since aslong as the backgrounds ISNT black, everything displays as it should. its only noticable when theres a black background, in games when loading for example it might be black in that area for a sec but then when loaded it displays everything else as it should.

Personally I find it strange..
