Hey... I am no spring chicken... and who's really losing out on this method? I wouldn't boast about it. But I don't see any harm as well. Is what we're doing with our Wii's hurting anyone? Hell no. Or we all wouldn't be helping each other doing homebrew. Trust me. It's covered. They write damaged products off all the time in retail. It's just this... Would it bother your conscious? If not, then fuck it. Make the swap.

my lousy cousins banner bricked my wii by installing some bludi wad channel thing aswell.
afta reading about it i found it is a banner bricked wii, im currently on firmware 3.3 and i have twilight princess hack installed
howeva i dont hav starfalll installed

plzzzzzzzzzz could sum1 tell me a way ov gettn my wii to work properly once again??
The system files are corruped message appears once i go past the " press A " screen, n then i cannot reset or boot a game disc or nothing.
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLZZZZZZ

Use savemiifrii, open up your GC Pad, and press , up, down, left right, 4 buttons at the same time, soon as you've switched wii on......
you should now be in recovery mode, insert Zelda TP, if it doesn't boot, YOU NEED TO INSTALL A MODCHIP, and autoboot Zelda


Oh btw, punch fuck out of the person that bricked you, your cuz or whoever..

Violence isn't the way, but you'd get a bit of anger out whilst doing it*

i heard about puttin a game into the wii which a new release, and that this would load the game into a firmware update

No because you haven't got a semi brick you have a corrupt channel on your wii, which is choking your Nand, therefore, you need to either find what you installed before this happened, or use any title deleter once, you have a modchip installed and boot zelda and run either Manager, title deleter!

i have a pal wii and was wondering does savemii support any region wii or jus ntsc or wat??

just mod your wii and do the twilight hack...
you are lucky that you still have hacked saves in your system...
no other easier unbricking measures at the moment...

you can't downgrade and you can't upgrade at the moment... even if you can upgrade with a 3.4 game disc it will not be of any help.. I don't think nintendo touched their banner loading code...

I had a channel brick on my Wii. Started this thread over it in fact. My solution was easy because it was still in it's warranty period. I called nintendo and they sent me an emial with the shipping label in it to print. I boxed it up, dropped it off at fedex, and got back another Wii from them 5 days later.

If you're still under warranty call their service dept. and get it arranged to send it in. Don't tell them what causd it just say you turned it on one morning and the message was there. I was truly amazed how quick they returned a Wii to me. It wasn't the one I sent in of course but who cares. Not only was it a working Wii but I get a new 1 year warranty with it.

If you're under warranty and try all these other ways you're just spinning your wheels. Unless you have a working modchip install that can autoboot you're probably not gonna get it working. I exhausted all the alternate methods and none of them will work with 3.3 and no starfall installed. Not for a banner brick anyways. If you send it to Nintendo you should have a working unit back within a week.


I just noticed after typing the above that you're across the pond. They should still have good service turnaround over there though I can't say from experience since I'm in the U.S.A.

No you can't... System menu doesn't use your custom ios hence it won't read copies...

becos b4 the brick i had run burnt game discz on it. ( backup launcher - lets u run burnt game discs without modchip ) i think lol

Games are forced to use the cIOS through the backup launcher. The main system menu doesnt force thiss. So wadmanager wont work.

Yep, like said... every channel in wii has a specific ios that loaded along with the channel that requires it... system menu is also a channel and it's booted along with the ios defined for it... and that ios in normal conditions, if you install a backup launcher channel or not, not a custom ios....

If you are on 3.2 you can force the system menu's ios I guess to one that contains backup reading abilities but that's something that could be done before bricking the wii...

And that's just theoretical, no one did such hack as of now as far as I know...
