Gaming Bricked psp not reading mMS

So,

Im trying to unbrick my psp 2000.
I've made a magic memory stick and I have a pandora battery.
The problem is that its not reading the mms.
I've tried on my friends unbricked psp and the loading worked perfectly.

My Question is, Does that mean my psp's mms slot is defunct?
