I knew it was coming as i was doing it but i thought if i turned my wii off in the process it'd make the damage worse.
So what i have is a bricked wii where the system menu and homebrew channel aren't working but preloaded and bootmii are.
I can't restore using my nand backup because bootmii is installed as an iOS, and i don't have a game cube controller. Is there anyway i can reinstall the firmware, or downgrade or something? Is there an alternate way of restoring a nand backup?

Grr sorry Lion changed Pimp to PRIMP. The title should have said Pimp.

can you get to any of the apps in homebrew?.. if so you should be able to get to mmm, an fix this. you have to reinstall. every thing. IMO.. get rid of pimp. the name should be changed to brick my wii, but primp is just as good.

u can still restore your nand dump using bootmii @ IOS and the power\reset buttons on your Wii (instead of a GC controller). However, generally speaking you may want to avoid restoring a nand dump from bootmii @ IOS, it's not as safe as doing it from boot2, but as long as u don't lose power u should be fine.

Alternatively, u can run bootmii to launch bootmini.elf and reinstall the HBC, then launch the HBC and fix whatever the problem was (ie. reinstall system menu, system menu IOS, priiloader, etc.)

PS. don't use PMW again... check out ModMii

run the ModMii wizard, answer the questions honestly but tell it that your Wii is a virgin even though its not. Also, make sure that the current firmware and your desired firmware that you enter are different (this ensures a new system menu is installed - for example, if currently on 4.2, finish on 4.1). Then follow the guide exactly except instead of doing the first step of the guide (ie. using an exploit to launch the hackmii installer), you're going to launch the hackmii installer from your existing bootmii installation. Launch bootmii, use the power\reset buttons to navigate the menu, go to the SD card button, then launch bootmini.elf. Then follow your ModMii guide and use it to reinstall the HBC and everything else it says.

Just one thing, Pimp my Wii doesn't brick your Wii if you left the settings by default. I changed the IOS of 3 Wii with it and it never did a thing. You somehow messed with the configuration.

Actually you can't. You need a GC controller because when bootmii sees that the nand dump does have bootmii in boot2 then it requires you to enter in the konami code which can only be done with a gc controller.

I Remember it used to be like that, but I thought there was an update that made it work... but I'm prolly wrong, cuz far be it from to question the ever so wise DeadlyFoez... cuz he's rated M for Team Your MOM
The update that you are thinking of is that it used to be that you had to press A, B, X, and Y all at the same time... which was a bitch to do, so they changed it to that you have to enter in the konami code instead.

before saying that pimp my wii bricked your wii, what did you do with it ? EXACTLY ?

I bet you installed an ios 60 or 70 stubbed in the "wad" menu and then you blame pimp my wii for your stupidity

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.
