I think olympic games are the perfect "excuse" to join Mario and Sonic in one game. Although there will be different characters from both worlds, shouldn't be any big plot involving them... I guess...

I hope this'll be fun! Also hope Nintendo takes the lead in this game development...

Well rest0re it already annonced that tails , knuckles are in the game , and im quite sure you can expect Shadow, Silver(well maybe) Amy and Eggman , like you can expect Wario , Waluigi , Peach and Bowser.

Well let's hope they put the dev.team from wiisports and mario party mixed some Sega dudes.

Sega Japan are developing with Miyamoto over seeing it. I do kinda hope there's a nice little rpg style adventure like the GBC/GBA Mario sports titles where you play your own Mii.

Well wait Keva , They say that the maximum number of 3rd party characther would be 3. With that game i can easily see Sonic in SSBB now , since their universe (Mario/Sonic) will clash in that game. So far we only have 1 3rd party character slot filled (Snake) so i think that they might have signed something for Sonic in SSBB at the same time (2 bird , 1 stone?) and since SSBB is teh game on the wii (well it one of the most anticipated with Metroid Prime3 and Galaxy) so i might say that they wait for a big event *cough*E3*cough* before annoncing it in SSBB (and they seem to reveal characters when they can show some of their moves or alteast have some animation and the textures ingame.) So i will say wait utill May , and you have high chances to see him in a E3 Nintendo Conference , and on the game website they said that they were talking with SEGA and others compagnies to see if they want to have their character in SSBB.(well i seem to remeber a post on the website about that.)

@Blond: Yeah but it will be like Mario Party , Luigi would own everybody in jumping game , but in a weird way in mario party, wario jumps as high as luigi (and everybody knows that Luigi jumps higher than Mario

Well E3 is dead as we know it, there's still a E3 (i think they changed the name.) Now in May/June (not sure) they open a E3-alike expo but only open to the media, and later in the summer (maybe early autumn) they open one for the public.

Well i know that the E3 still exist , not as before, but they still do a massive expo for the industry people to show their new stuff. And the local TV-Show on gaming received their invites like 2 weeks ago.

the repercussions of nintendo and sega and the 2008 olympics collaborating on such an intricate april fools joke before april 1st are entirely not worth it


this is almost as bad as when nintendo announced it would be called the "wii" and people were like "I'll believe it when they confirm it at E3!!11" even though they already had a press release, copyrighted the logo and such

Thing is Mario would be better in other events, swimming and that. Plus he has experiance in other sports. And also theres the fact that Sonic would just run into corners of the track due to shit camera angles.
