The poor dog has had some mystery illnesses lately. Short bouts of the runs and vomiting and then he’s fine again. I discovered the cause the other day.

My boy and the girl next door, who he spends a lot of time with, have been making potions behind the shed. The potions have consisted of water in a bucket that, over a period of a month or so, have had garden clippings, crisps, sweets and god only knows what else added to it until the whole thing is a putrefying mess. This concoction is then fed to the poor hapless dog who appears to be stupid enough to actually drink some of it. I thought Labradors were supposed to be smart, but I guess I was wrong.

I found this out only because my lad shot out of the bath one night and still naked caring a small container of bath water shot out of the house and across the lawn to behind the shed. On inspection I found him tipping the contents into a reeking bucket of goo. I confronted him on the contents and finally got the story that it was a potion the he and his friend had been making in an attempt to turn the dog into a frog. I asked how he planned on turning the dog back to which he replied, "another potion of course."

I kind of saw the funny side, and given he is only six I only scolded him a moderate amount. I let him know he could kill the poor mutt who had already had numerous case of Delhi belly. He promised not to do it again. Bloody kids!

This is a slightly amusing story, but also a bit bad for the dog...still, make sure he doesn't keep doing it.

I've banned all potion making not only for the dogs safety but also for my lads. I would hate to think how much bacteria was breeding in that mix, the smell was horrendous.

Poor dog. I can't believe they did something like that. Lucky that you found out so you could stop it.

I think what may have caused your dog to vomit was the grass/garden clippings (or maybe the candy? [IMG]) ...because I've heard from somewhere that dogs tend to sometimes eat grass intentionally (not in this case though) in order to throw up because of an upset stomach...or something like that...lolz

Well other than feeling sorry for your dog...Darned Kids! [IMG]

And this is why Harry Potter is evil. They were dabbling in potions. Potions are of Witchcraft. Witchcraft is of the Devil. Therefore; Harry Potter is of the Devil.

BURN THE BOOKS!!! THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT WAS CORRECT!!! BURRRRRN THEM ALLLLLLL!!!

    *cough*

Sorry, had some cynicism caught in my throat.

"another potion, of course." Response score: 9.5/10. Brilliant.

The dog is still fine. He seemed happy enough this morning.
Due to the previous bouts of tummy upset, I don't think this is the first time the two kids have attempted a polyjuice on the dog.
