Hacking blackb0x FTP Server 1.2. Cannot Connect To PS3. HELP

Hi i am trying to setup ftp from my pc to ps3 and am using blackb0x FTP server program and WinSCP FTP. I have blackb0x installed on the PS3, and load it up, i input the on screen IP address in WinSCP and enter port 21, when i connect a window pops up saying

searching for host......
connecting to host...

but alway times out. Any ideas why i cannot connect to the PS3?

Check your firewall also check your router to see if ports 20 and 21 are forwarded.

Your console needs to have access to the internet for it to work!

and change the connection type to passive and transfer to passive.

I went crazy yesterday trying to make it work, and it would only connect if i had everything on passive on the FTP server in the computer!

How can i get the PS3 to have access to the internet, as i cant as the ps3 keeps asking for a system update, and until i do that i cant connect to the internet cant i??

EDIT: Got it working now, i had to use FlashFXP, couldnt get WinSCP or FileZilla to work

it asks you for an update?

just try the option under the network, to see if you have internet connection. it wont ask you anything.

but seems you got it working! cheers!

I had the same problem but as soon as I tried to use the old 1.0 ftp program it worked -.-' (Using filezilla)

Same problem here.

I run OSX and Trasmit is the only software I have been successful with.
Filezilla does not work at all.
