Twisted Tower is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Atmos Games and published by 3D Realms. Set in a haunting 1950s-era theme park, the game challenges players to ascend a derelict tower filled with eerie fairy-tale mascots and intricate puzzles. The primary objective is to reach the tower's summit to claim a substantial prize and win the affection of the protagonist's childhood love, Charlotte.

The game offers a variety of unique paths, ensuring each playthrough feels fresh and engaging. Players can upgrade an arsenal of whimsical yet deadly weapons, including a Blunderbuss, Axe, Chain Gun, and Ray Gun. Additionally, collectible toys grant abilities like enhanced jumping and dashing, aiding in navigation and combat.

A free demo is currently available on Steam, providing a glimpse into the game's early stages. The demo introduces players to the tower's initial floors, featuring four distinct enemies, three unique weapons with secondary fire modes, and a cast of intriguing characters.

"Twisted Tower" draws inspiration from titles like BioShock, blending atmospheric storytelling with intense, fast-paced gameplay. Its unique setting and engaging mechanics have garnered attention from both players and critics, noting its compelling blend of horror and carnival aesthetics.

The full release date for "Twisted Tower" has yet to be announced. For more information and updates, visit the official 3D Realms website or the game's Steam page.

It looks like it learned nothing useful from Bioshick and instead just is a generic shooter with flashy guns, and plethora of overly colorful paint slathered on.

Hard pass.
