Hi, I still have my Gateway.
A few years ago, it was the best way to find cheats.

I would load up gateway mode, open a digital version of a game, then search and dump memory to the gateway microsd card.
Whilst still in the game (because it's a digital game), I can remove the gw card, look at the memory dumps on my computer, make the .txt code files etc, reinsert the gw and test out the codes and not having to even close down the game. It made finding and testing codes very fast.

Is there any better alternative to this yet?

I read a little about CTRPluginFramework, but from what I understand, I don't think it compares to the method above, and gateway is still better for finding codes.
Any input? :) Thanks

(Please no gateway hate, it's boring. I've had my gateways for years, back when it was the only solution, it was money well spent.)

CTRPluginFramework has the same ability as GW cheat engine, you can search and create AR on the go, the same code from GW can works with this.

PS: i also had GateWay for years, i was surprised it gave me the same codes as the gateway.

Yeah that does look good, thanks.

But gw seems better I guess, like I mentioned above, because you can dump the ram to the gw card in game.
That can't really be done in software.
Unless some wifi solution appears? :)

I personally use CTRPluginFramework to find an address, then ida GDB debugger to find what part of the code is responsible to modify that address using watchpoints and finally patch the code.
It is a more complicated method than just looking for pointers but it ensures compatibility with other regions and versions of the game.

I thought NTR had a remote debugger. Guess I'm wrong.
Yeah but that never really became good, right?
I thought it was very basic.

Nice! Any guides on using gdb in 3ds games? It needs luma?

It's a luma feature, you need to know asm language too. In my case I learnt because some people helped me as well as searching in google. To connect the 3ds to ida, enable the debugger and the process from rosalina and from ida go to debugger, attach to process.

In tools there is Gateway RAM Dumper, you can make create several dumps from the whole memory region or some of it, and you can name the dump, after creating the dumps turn off the 3DS and take out the SD card and copy the dump to PC, or restart the 3DS AMD use any ftp program to transfer the files.
There is also another way, it's called NTR debugger, you connect your PC to the 3DS via wwifi and you search from PC.
