Apple Better photo app for 3.1.2

I recently downgraded from ios 4 back to 3.1.2 because it was killing my battery and making my phone unbearably slow. However, I recently noticed that the photo app (the app to view photos, not take pictures) on ios 4 seemed to display photos in higher quality, less grainy and allowed me to zoom in. It also used a better sorting system. Does anybody know if there is a way to get the photo app from ios4 onto 3.1.2? Or possibly an app with the same features? App store or cydia is fine. iOS 4 drains your battery because you don't quit the multitasked apps you enter to. Have you tried actually quitting an app without just click the home button once?

I do all that, it still causes drain and slows my phone down.
