Hi all

I have an old 3ds XL on 11.4 but the game card slot not reading games.
I was hope to get some kind of CFW on it but I think its a bit more trickey on 11.4 from what I been reading and needing a donner console.

do you think there will ever be an easy hax for CFW or just forget it.
but also is there any way to fix/check game card slot?

You won't need to be able to read cartridges if you use DSiWare hax. You will need a second already hacked console (has to be an old model, nothing with "new" in the title) and you'll have to buy a $2 game on the hacked console. See https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(dsiware-game-injection)

As for fixing the cart slot, you could buy a new one on ebay and open up your console and install it, but that could be very involved.

Nope, at the end, both will have CFW

It's not too hard --- and there's loads of people on these forums with experience so if you're ever not sure about any step just ask. It is the only way for you besides doing a hardmod, which is quite risky unless you have extensive soldering experience.

am I ok to update my good 3ds xl to latest version and am I ok to access the store or anything I need to do before I do so?
I then need my 2nd xl on the latest version and away we go.

Hi all
Sorry I know this is very old thread but now I’m going to have to try and sort these 3ds xl out.
The one with broken game card slot is on new 11.9.
Just do the seedminer hack as normal?
How do I do then install games etc as no more free shop.

The old one I have already on cfw is it a good idea to update that to 11.9 also.
Some games say need an update on it am I ok to dont this also?
