Well, all Slot-1 Flashcarts pretty much have the best Homebrew compatibility. If the Homebrew supports DLDI-patching. (Which is 95% of the homebrew we have now)

Just choose one you like.

Since all the flashcarts have like 95% homebrew support, you should concentrate, which flashcart have most beautifull shell

As for shell Acekard R.P.G. is most beautiful for me (that's why im planning to buy it

Aye, with the introduction of DLDI, practically all carts have excellent homebrew support. You should instead select a card based on price, compatibility, support (from the card's development team) and GUI in my opinion.

The cheapest is the Ncard or a clone. 30$ shipped from www.dealextreme.com

Cheaper than a 45$ R4. The R4 is just too pricy and if you buy a shody microSD card, the homebrew might freeze.

Technically, I would say that would be the Supercard CF. Many of the old homebrew apps never got DLDI patched, and many of the devs only had a SC CF.

But get an R4.

Any Slot-1 or Slot-2 is fine (bear in mind that Slot-2 cards require some sort of PassMe method), just don't buy an Acekard RPG!! They have absolutely no homebrew support and are a bad way to go. I recommend the R4, but if you're also wanting to play ROMs, look into the CycloDS as well.

As i know AceKard supports DLDI, it should be similar to all those other suggestions.

Bear in mind that some homebrews use slut-2 devices as a ram expansion, so you can think about that too. but dont get a slut-2 device since they are obsolete but haveing a ram expansion or 3-in-1 (not sure) can help in some homebrews (like QuakeDS).

I mentioned slut-2 since you are just worried about homebrews and this can increase that support.

I was under the impression that the R4 I bough from deal extream was $32 after shipping (and so is the ncard)

The ncard does have built in memory (which means that you can't upgrade past 1G which some people might find a little limiting).
The ncard IS great though. It's the best cart for it's price, it's just not as many people have it as the R4.

wtf!? lol. how would you know? RPG has run all dldi homebrew i've thrown at it (with auto dldi patching), except for dslinux. Indeed i assume it has at least equal compatability with R4.

If homebrew is your only call, not roms, and you want to be able to play the really old homebrew, you'll need a slot two cart and passme, like supercard/gbamp i think.

however there isn't alot of older homebrew of high quality, given that development libraries and projects have improved significantly over time. so a slot one might be easiest and best after all (with the added bonus of auto dldi patching, although supercard slot2 has it too).

M3 Real probably works fine with homebrew, but it's not exactly the most convenient with it. You can't see custom homebrew icons (Like the commercial games have) and they must be on root. I haven't heard of any problem with moonshell running, but also it should be noted moonshell is better imo than media-extend, the outdated built in player (which is based on old moonshell)
