i have the keys.dat file in the same directory along with my sbk and tsek keys in the keys.txt

Check if you have all Master Keys (00, 01, 02, 03 and 04). If you are missing one, you must google it.

No it still only works on 4.x and 5.x but if you want to update to either firmware without burning your fuses so you can "downgrade" in the future, you can follow this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/
Just be mindful that when you update to firmware 4.0 or above, there is a chance cartridges will no longer work when you "downgrade" your Switch to a firmware below 4

I'm in the same situation as you, 3.0.0 Switch, kinda sucks being left out without the ability to load backups.

It depends. Lower firmware has more vulnerabilities, so it's generally better to stick to it. Firmwares lower than 3.0.2 might get a coldboot option later on, so your switch will boot in CFW at startup and you haven't to use a jig or inject a payload manually. There probably won't be a coldboot or warmboot solution for the latest firmware (5.1.0) in the future. But if you don't mind using a jig once and keep your switch in sleep mode and wan't to play the newest games, updating is fine. It depends on what you want and how patient you are.

hi all
any one had this error on layeredfs :
i launch mario + rabbid on mario odyssey donor, its run well at the 3 time but when i go back to play mario odyssey the game now is in japanese language, instead of french !!!
i have my progression/moons... but not the language !
can this be recover some how ?

i just managed to change the language , but still weird with layeredfs the language change on its own.

Backups are now a thing!
So here's a tutorial that should make it more user friendly.

1.) Download this script.
2.) Install Python 2.7 if you do not have Python 2.7, and get hactool from SciresM's GitHub, then put the Python script in the same directory.
3.) Run the script by double clicking on it.
4.) Type the title ID for the game you want to replace.
5.) Click "Select XCI" and select the XCI dump of the game you want to use.
6.) Click "Automate it" and wait until the button seems to be unpressed.
7.) Copy the Atmosphere directory to your SD card.
(OPTIONAL)
8.) Merge the Atmosphere directory with the one already existing on your SD.

Now, boot your Switch into ROMFS! If you don't have this option, go to SimonMKWii's Discord and he will provide the files you need for your SD in #tutorial.

Yes, however some games might not work as LayeredFS is unstable.

I feel like i'm missing something. I'm using Happy birthday's demo as the donor & the backup i'm trying to use is Kirby. I'm pretty sure i did everything correctly but the game still launches as it's original game not the one i'm trying to play.

Have you checked the tutorial section under Switch and looked through the database on what games launch under other titles, etc?
