hey guys i have a weird desire to play with the Atari Jaguar controller as classic controller on the wii. any way to do it?

yeah as a classic controller for games that support it

Well the simplest method to achieve this would involve cutting up the boards and wiring up the classic controller's button contacts to the buttons you'd like the Jaguar's controller to use to replace them. You'll need a dremmel for cutting the circuit boards (very important that you do not breathe the dust in as you cut it; wear a mask), you'll need a soldering iron and some flux-core solder, and you'll need some wire for making the connections. You should note that the jaguar's keypad is on a matrix, so each button on it does not have a unique connection. It relies on a polling method that checks each column one-at-a-time to see which rows are active from that column. To get full use of the keypad, you'd probably have to program a microcontroller to do that polling and interpret the results.

If you need more help figuring out how to do this mod, head on over to the ModRetro forums where there are a bunch of people experienced with this kind of hack.
