Homebrew arm9loaderhax Luma error on CTRNAND

Ok i find the courage to do this. All go ok untill Luma give me this error.

An error has occuerred:
Failed to mount CTRNAND.

So what i do wrong? I follow the usual guide here https://3ds.guide/
It says in the guide to just keep going. Unless you forgot to do a backup...

Just continue the guide normally. This is supposed to happen.
EDIT: Ninja'd :switch: :ph34r::ninja: :switch:

Ok, sorry for my panic but following a video guide i brick my japan 3ds. And now do the OFFICIAL guide for this process make me a little bit...let's say im in a panic status on any part of the guide x°D

Hopefully you have a New 3DS as screen recording does not work on any other 3DS.

Its ok, is my N3DS EUR im gonna mod. I have a O3DS with NRT and all that jaz, when the downgrade from 10.? (i don't remenber the FW sorry) was avalible but unfortunaly the screen streaming was a feature only for NEW3DS (becouse the new processor). One thing, I read on the guide for update so for there im ok, but when i boot the system i have to press something or i will boot normaly in Luma and co?

Depends, have you already setup your Luma settings? If so, then you don't need to press anything during boot, as it automatically runs at boot. If not, then hold select while booting to view the settings. You can see what settings to enable in http://3ds.guide

I simple follow the guide so now it start with out the need to press something. One thing i read that the luma update have ben take down or something, is safe now to have for upsate Luma?

Finaly i finish! This is probably the most panic process i ever done on one of my console. Unless something more simple happen i never do a tauros crap like this ever again x°D Tomorrow im gonna test the NTR Streaming.

Congrats on A9LH! Now your 3DS is safer from bricks.

To bad i can ejoy the new feature i get becouse i have to sleep and tomorrow...geh the traing i have to do tomorrow is hard but i have to compare what i do now with what i have to do tomorrow...the training is gonna look the most easy thing in the world x°D

Yup. You'll be fine.

Thanks you. Becouse even if i can tecnichaly use freeshop...i do all this risky work for screen recording and aside from some game (int int Inazuma Eleven int int) and the cia version of the homebrew i want still be able to buy my game in digital or buy the badge.

Why does Luma fail to mount CTRnand though?
When the New 3DS came out, the first firmware for it was 8.1~ish. So, if you try to boot into an earlier firmware, say, 2.1.0, the New 3DS CAN handle it, but many things are fucky. For example, a bad signal is sent to the MCU if the lid is closed, resulting in an MCU brick. On the 2DS, the top screen tries to render at 800x240 for 3D, so the right half of the screen is cut off. As you can see, these consoles were not designed for 2.1.0. Only the Old 3DS (and perhaps the O3DSXL) were designed for 2.1.0. However, even on those consoles, it cannot boot (though it boots to a black screen instead of a "Failed to mount CTRNAND" error). So, why is this?

Downgrading to 2.1.0 leaves the CTRNAND in such a state that Luma3DS can't mount/read it on a New 3DS, and every other model can't boot it with the SD Card inserted. In fact, most CFWs can't boot a 2.1.0 NAND at all. Once you have A9LH installed, you can restore your NAND backup. Until then, you need to rush and get off 2.1.0 ASAP! It's risky no matter what your console is. :)

I'd say it's actually by design. Luma3ds can run on 3.x upwards, having it fail to mount 2.1 is handy as this way people won't update via system setting when on 2.1 - even though that wouldn't be too much of a problem as a9lh would still be installed and could be used to get out of a bad update.

Ah okay, I was just curious as to why it failed. Thanks guys!
