Gaming Are PSP cases hard to replace?

Yes, it's very hard to take out your PSP.

Not really, but I've only actually replaced the faceplate and not the whole casing, but I doubt the process is much different.

the slims are a little bit harder to do than the originals. with the slims there are * shaped hole screws at the top (something that the original didn`t have), which if you have the right equipment, make it as easy as the originals.

as you can see in that picture above. both have one + shaped hole screw at the bottom.

does anyone know where I can find tutorials to remove the back casing of the psp slim? And antonkan, thanks for the very positive response. I bet you haven't even done something like this.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being most difficult and 1 being easiest, how would you guys rate a faceplate change? And as a second question, how would you rate a back faceplate mod? I read about removing cables and such so I don't like that approach, despite my PSP slim's bad condition.

I have a phat psp and I could not remove the back plate at all I couldn't get the metal chasis out to replace itthe screws are in so damn tight and the screws are so small I just gave up in the end so now I have a half black half white PSP it does look kinda cool but the white is all old and grubby

the backplate of the psp slim would be easier to remove. after you get the mother board etc out. compared to the psp original. the orginal umd tray is a lot more complex than the slim umd.

If you know what you're doing, it isn't that hard. All you are doing is unscrewing things and unsnapping things, then doing it all in reverse order. I've taken a few PSPs apart (completely), and put them back together. It does take a little bit of time to do though. And you should really try to remember what you take out of where.
