While hunting through sites trying to find Roms, I started to think if the great homebrewers could make it more convient? We have the Homebrew Browser where you can basically download all the homebrew apps you need (besides Waninkoko), so why don't we have something for ROMs as well, being able to download roms from all the consoles that u can run emulators on the HBC and place them in the right folders (N64 roms go into N64ROMS folder for Wii64 for example). hell make it look like the Wii Shop Channel would be awesome. Im just posting this as a suggestion, maybe i'll submit to the HBB guys if it sounds like a good idea to you guys?

Yes and as this would need a central ROM server (one where you could download all ROMs anyone would want) this is never going to happen.

No homebrew is completely legal as long as it doesn't break the copyrights of Ninty

"Your Wii Console and the Wii Network Service are not designed for use with unauthorized software, services, or devices or non-licensed accessories, and you may not use any of these with your Wii Console or the Wii Network Service. Such use may be illegal, voids any warranty, and is a breach of this agreement." You mean like that copyright by nintendo? ;p

As long it isn't "unauthorized software" then it's fine. HBC isn't illegal in any way.

    HBC is unauthorized software.

    To clarify:

Homebrew probably breaks the Wii's End User License Agreement.

However, copying a rom breaks copyright laws and is piracy.

Thus, copying a rom breaks laws, homebrew breaks a user agreement that has never been enforced in a court.

and the enduser agreement isn't lawful at least in germany. eulas or other enduser agreement the user is forced to accept after purchase of software/hardware/what ever are actually not allowed and not binding at least here in germany. -> homebrew 100% legal as long as no copyright infringement is committed. hbc is build a 100% out of open source libraries which don't include any copyrighted code.

roms on the other hand are, as long as downloaded from the interwobble, always a copyright infringement.
