Hacking Anyone else having a hard time injecting GBA roms?

So, tonight I tried using the Ultimate GBA VC Injector to try to get Pokemon Emerald & FireRed working on my n3DS XL, but to my prevail, it didn't work and every time I'd try launching the game it'd just show a white screen on the top screen and the GBA "no sleep function" warning on the bottom screen. Anything I'm doing wrong, maybe? Maybe there's some precautions I'm not taking? Thanks for any help in advance.

Download the .cias from that iso site, they're there can't link for obvious reasons

Pokémon is difficult to make yourself because it requires some hex patches. Just download them from the iso site.

Oddly coincidental, I went through doing those patches earlier today to get my vc working, here's the tutorial I used if you don't feel like using that iso site.
