Opening and closing, turning off and booting the N3DS is a pain in the ass. Isn't there some kind of cia that allows transfers without having to leave emuNAND? I know there's the default SD Manager thing in settings, but it then sticks you in a loop and you have to turn off anyway; and even if it didn't you'd still be thrown back to sysNAND. Any suggestions for a better solution? Thanks.

Have you tried Nintendo's MicroSDManagement tool?
You can get it as cia. It's much faster, especially for N3ds. It also works for O3ds.
You can get it from the iso site.

Is it really a lot faster?

Its as fast as it usually is (Not very) but better because you don't leave emunand when using it.
Taking out the SD card and using it in a USB 3 reader is 100% faster though.

The method HenryLeonheart gave me also doesn't require exiting emuNAND, that's why I asked, if it isn't faster I might as well keep that one. I'll give it a shot, thank you for the suggestion.

I've notice the FTP method seems to be faster for large files (CIAs) but if your transferring a lot of small files it 'appears' as if the SD card management option is better.

For my n3ds, I use class 10 microsd. I get up to 3mb/s of speed. So it's really that fast.
Edit: MicroSDManagement doesn't exit emunand as well.

same here, got a class 10 Samsung Evo 32GB on sale at Best Buy. it was 11.99 which is a steal for buying locally and not online plus not having to wait for the post.
