amd is close to bringing out a new cpu with 4 cores.. maybe u should wait a tiny bit.

Not until 2007. And Quad Core isn't really all that necessary yet, if ever, unless you're running a server or doing some serious multi-tasking.

That motherboard looks good, Asus is really on the ball lately, even with BIOS updates and what not. However, if you can afford it, the 680i chipset overclocks like a beast, you could easily overclock the processor to E6700 speeds, and beyond.

EDIT: Dirtie beat me to it.

If you don't plan on OC'ing, than this is a terrific mobo. Even still, the E6600 as is will run superbly cool and is energy efficient. It blows an FX-60 out of the water easily with it's 1066 FSB.

As far as GPUs go, not a big fan of ATI, but I'm sure those cards are no slouches. And as far as the monitor(s) go, I have one 20" Wide Screen Dell that I absolutely love.

Now, if I can just get rid of my XPS 700...

It costs LESS to get a prebuilt with the same parts AND a 3 year warrenty

for cheap pcs that are awesome, go here cyberpowerpc.com
from a review at extremetech
"...the Gamer Infinity SLI KO was the lowest cost system we tested. Given the fact that the CyberPower system is $3,000 cheaper than the Alienware, its performance is impressive, and speaks well of how off-the-shelf parts can be assembled into a system that's better than the sum of the parts."

Same parts, cheaper, warrenty

I do have to agree here. Cyberpower has some nice kit.
