jeese, kids these days, actually pay for something, what a stupid idea. Now stop trolling the OP's thread with offtopicness, he asked for a way to fix his pirated OS, nothing else.

My personal suggestion, upgrade to windows XP, it does everything windows 7 does.

oh, and, piracy FTW!

Ha ha, upgrade, ha ha, does everything windows 7 does, ha ha. You best be trolling.

inb4 trolled.
I have yet to see a single program that does not run under XP just fine (that runs under windows 7)

Any directx 10 or 11 only game wont work on xp...

well all i can say is this:

>some games arent ready yet for windows 7 (many programs like warcraft3? doesnt utilized the dx10 correctly)

>some minor to fatal errors on programs specially for some super old programs that can only be launched on windows xp

...

as always wait around 1 year and take a look again for software compatibilities.. but anyway as of software compatibilities Windows VISTA is way more better than 7, but for performance Windows 7 is way better than VISTA

so what will you prefer? Application Compatibility or System Performance , well that for you to decide on.
Hmm... And i wonder what this XP Mode feature is...I think i'll just ignore it and stop using programs that work on XP but don't work on 7.

QUOTE
Windows XP Mode (XPM) is a virtual machine package for Windows Virtual PC containing a pre-installed, licensed copy of Windows XP Professional SP3 as its guest OS. Pre-installed integration components allow applications running within the virtualized environment to appear as if running directly on the host, sharing the native desktop and Start Menu of Windows 7 as well as participating in file type associations. XP Mode applications run in a Terminal Services session in the virtualized Windows XP, and are accessed via Remote Desktop Protocol by a client running on the Windows 7 host.
It's only for people with Win.7 Pro/Ultimate, though.

Does it fucking matter? Stop living in a cave and upgrade.

why should I go through such hassle for absolutely no reward? To increase the size of my E-peen?

(Personally I only use XP for stuff that doesn't run on OSX anyway)

So, here is the deal: I download Windows 7 Ultimate from the Internet and used 7Loader to activate it. When Microsoft released the anti-piracy update, I accidentally downloaded it, but I removed the effects with WAT Remover AND uninstalled the update , but now (1 month later) out of the blue, the piracy warnings came back and my wallpaper is black again! And the Anti-Piracy update is installed again! The WAT remover doesn't work anymore, what should I do?

Thanks!
u might as well start all over again (reinstall windows7)
activate imeadiately, before win update and use WAT remover aswell

i have ultamite but i can't find it

WAT remover 2.2.5

Been using that since i got the 'Windows 7 is not genuine build 7600' on my wallpaper and that got rid of it and havn't had a problem since; I've even been installing all the updates with no problems

I used 7Loader last September, and I disabled that update, and I'm having no problems

Same here. Used it on 3 computers and all still running. Make sure to hide the update so that no one comes along and accidentally updates ur computer.

Never use the wga hacks they are always patched by updates.
use the windows 7 loader by daz its the best one.

well, i don't know how my pirated win7pro install self activated, but i *did not* install KB971033 and I did get the piracy warnings about 5 weeks after I had installed it. i had also installed win7ult off the same ISO on my desktop, didn't install KB971033 on that either, and have never had any piracy warning w/that one.

for reference to the release of KB971033 the install was done around March 16 and the piracy warning appeared on April 21.

i ran remove WAT, and it removed the wallpaper/watermark but i still had nags when booting. i ran chew-WGA and i've not had a problem since. my windows is not technically "activated" anymore, but all of the windows updates, optional or important, work fine.

this is not a suggested solution, but a response to wga hacks being patched by updates. chew-WGA 0.9 is from last october but it worked for me.
though this may be because I never installed KB971033 my point is that that's the only one that could have killed it.

edit:
for the record, i do keep both machines fully updated and did hide the KB971033 update so that it won't get it installed by accident.

why is a topic about pirating windows on gbatemp when roms aren't allowed...?

No illegal links or files are being hosted. You can talk about roms all you want as long as you don't link to them or talk about where you get them from.

Windows 7 has two advantages over XP:

1) DirectX 10/11 support.

2) Support for more than 3.5GB of memory allocation.

I know that I personally don't give two shits about DX10/11 (graphical difference really doesn't live up to the hype in majority of supported games), and I'm sure most on the forum don't either (due to not having hardware up to spec or of similar reason to me). The hard memory limit is obviously of varied importance to different people, but I'm positive 99% of those who visit this forum rarely, if ever exceed that limit in day to day usage.

There's really no other reason to upgrade to Win7, and many reasons not to, including (but not limited to):
actually having to crack it to use, install and media footprint, sporadic software incompatibility, sporadic hardware incompatibility, horrible new dialogs for most control panel items, worse performance on older hardware, and of course price if you're a legitimate user.

You can cloak yourself in your own ignorance if you want, but you're the only one who has to pay for it.
