I got it for Christmas and it wants me to update.

I don't mind losing all my homebrew channel stuff (does it delete installed wads?) but it says it might make my system inoperable.

Should I just do the update? (I don't wanna launch with a launcher or something, I just wanna update.)

NO!!! Install Starfall (must be on 3.2) or run it through Gecko OS

if you have a wiikey just turn on the block updates option, and install the IOS38.wad (use wad mananger) which can be found if you have a look around on teh interweb

i'm running animal crossing on a 3.2U wii and all i had to do was install the ios38 wad

I really like to keep what I do minimal...can I launch Gecko OS from the Homebrew Channel? Thanks.

Yes you can. But I reccomnd Starfall cause it's a one time installtion (you can always uninstall). If you do use Starfall be sure to press B and 1 at the same time

Yeah, I got this earlier too. It'll be a pain having to run GeckoOS every time :\.
Hopefully when Forsaekn releases his cIOS, updates will be locked automatically and I won't have to go through the extra fuss.
