Homebrew Question Android in Switch with a 32gb class 4

Hi, i was able to get a 32gb micro sd, i want to use it to try the Android on Switch, but the memory is class 4, does it affect the performance...? does it has to be class 10 or above...? thanks!

It seems that the current Android writes a fair bit to the SD card as you use the OS, (this space is after all what would be internal memory on phones), so write speed is rather important.

Class 4 is gonna be a shitshow, even CLass 10/UHS 1 is kind of slow. UHS3 is cheap and widely available, particularly from Samsung, and is what I would recommend. Even then you're still looking at various loading related pauses.

Yeah... i will try it just for curiosity, later it will replace my Wii's 16gb memory

Thanks to the reply I looked up write speeds in Samsung SD Cards.

So buy an Evo Plus 128GB or larger for 90MB/s write speed. Evo Plus 64GB for 60MB/s write speed. And don't buy an Evo Plus 32GB, because it only has 20MB/s write speeds (UHS1).

Thats sequential write speed though - but still higher capacity cards should be faster.

64GB UHS3 cards are still usable, but laggy - and I think I have seen another user (cheops?) making a huge rom collection build video on Switchroot, that looked far more performant, than my build does, so I guess - buying a 128GB Samsung UHS-3 card still makes a difference there.
