@ Sora1234: I did say some...
As in, less than 1% of flashcart owners.

Ah. Yeah, I guess it's possible. You can dump the game to a slot 2 flashcard, and load it that way. Or, connect to a FTTP server, and download your own dump wirelessly. Either way.Hm. It's got me thinking about compiling a simple program to send/transfer a file. Of course, I would have to build a (Server?), and a (Reciever) to transmit them....Anyway. Back on topic. Yeah, I agree that the build is lacking, but I also disagree that the only reason people buy Acekard's is AKAIO. I mean I bought one, but I didn't find out about AKAIO, until 2 months later. I'm glad to see you fixed your issue.

There's nothing wrong with his post.

If that's your attitude, I can't be bothered to help you.
Actually there is.
The cart doesn't work on his XL because of contact issues caused by poor build quality.
Worlok was implying it was because of the 1.4 firmware.

I don't think Morku is asking for help either. I got the impression that he already did the paper trick to help with the problem.

But I got to agree, the worst build quality I have ever seen. People need to stop advertising the cart like it's something godly because it's not. The only good thing about it is the unofficial firmware AKAIO.

I'm sorry that I can make a good estimation on a post and you can't. Why shouldn't it work on XL because of contact issues if it works on other systems?

I was implying nothing of the sort I was assuming that he was talking about 1.4 because I read that it didn't work on his XL but it worked on his lite. The only mistake I made in my post is that I didn't see that it worked on his dsi.

Oh and you're completely wrong, we don't advertise the ackard 2i as something godly, YOU advertise the r4 as something godly because of the new firmware.

Aww Trolly I'm sorry.

The problem seems that you're comparing the manufacturing quality of something that cost $12 versus $80. Stop griping at Acekard and start looking at the users who whine when they have to pay more than $10 for a flash cart that lets them play thousands of games for free. They're the reason you won't ever see another RPG--nobody would buy it.

This

It's annoying how people moan about the build quality. Is that what the AK is designed for, to have a solid gold case that's virtually indestructible? No it's to play games and it has 1 of the highest compatibility rates so I really couldn't care less how it's built, at least it works.

The $3 R4s from Priceangels/NDScardsale have a better build quality than the AK2i, so it's not all about the price.

My only problem now is when I put the XL into sleep mode when I reopen the XL my games are always frozen or sometimes the XL is actually switched off, does anyone know if this is common with the AK2i or is it the XL, any suggestions at all, it's a bit annoying not being able to put the XL to sleep when I want to.
The only friend I have that has an XL, has that problem... And he doesn't even have a flashcart... He could be using one of the DSi ware games and it will do the same thing.... Don't really know what the issue is though...

But that doesn't work on the DSi or DSi XL, support SDHC or have upgradable firmware. It's also a clone. The Acekard also has a spring loaded MicroSD, which after using the R4 is something I miss.

Because the Acekard is a more Advanced flashcart, it has to have IC's on both sides of the PCB. The Acekard team had to make compromises to get the PCB in the Shell without IC's protuding out of the shell. The clone R4's only have a single IC on one side of the PCB, which gives them more options for mounting the PCB in the shell. So it's not a fair comparison.

Considering how much you hate the Acekards, why do you spend so much time in the Acekard forum?

Fits perfectly fine into my DSL

I dunno how much bigger the DSi slot is but maybe they should have made the card a little bigger specifically for that.
Also the AK2i was made for the DSi, not the XL version, blame Nintendo for making the slot bigger if they did.

I could just be talking complete garbage here though

it's not the size of the slot, it's how it's used.
*ahem

The problem I noticed, with the AK2i in the XL, is that the XL is large and slim enough to flex slightly. Before I did the paper trick, I could observe it in the DSi Menu. Danny Phantom! *flex* No Card Inserted! *flex* Oh, he's back! ....etc.
The paper trick increased the contact to contact pressure enough that the ever so slight flexing of using the console doesn't effect gameplay anymore. Before I did it I froze 3 times playing TWEWY in 2 hours. I have not frozen in a game on my XL w/AK2i ever since and that was a month ago I think.

The features are irrelevant. He was saying that the Acekard is poorly built because it's cheap. I just pointed out that there are way cheaper cards that are better built.

I never said I hate Acekards. I don't "spend much time" in the Acekard section either. Just read and reply occasionally. No need to get all personal.

Well. I don't know about you guy's, but I didn't buy my Flashcard's for their build quality.

Am I the only one who doesn't really care?

You spent 15 bucks. It doesn't work for you. Boo hoo. What else would you have spent that 15 bucks on? Coffee for you and your friends from starbucks?

You paid a small price for something that you had trouble with. There are people who don't have problems with the AK2i. I have a DSi XL and the AK2i fits perfectly and works no problem.

Just get a "better" card. Whining about it isn't going to make it in your XL.

My Acekard doesn´t works like a charm (Even though I had let it drop several times

) but, is not like to make a thread and whine about it, everyone knows that it doesn´t has perfect build quality. I expect you to in the next weeks whine about an AKAIO update.

I have my reason to argue - I've spent $100 for my A2i on it's launch

Actually I was shocked when I learned that the real pricing was some 30 bucks. But even with that it has payed off like 5 times already.

I love my Acekard 2i

Never had any problems so far and Ive had it for a year or more.

EDIT: Miser lives for the R4 lol

my ak2i was fine at first but started doing that locking up crap (locking up in-game, locking up or rebooting when I close the system for standby, etc) so I jammed a piece of toiletpaper roll cardboard in there and it hasn't frozen since

also I only used the ak2i on dsi
