Thats correct but rxTools works using MSET which should work fine using the Browser ask any questions you have there AFTER reading the main post.

Installing a 4gb game takes 10 min tops for me and if you don't have a shit pc and leave the back plate unscrewed transfer that CIA should take no more than 3 minutes did I mention this is all free?
Thanks, read the main post. Unfortunately, I'm on firmware 6.3.0.12E and not 4.x

Looks like I'll need to get my hands on Cubic Ninja or a Sky3DS to use Cubic Ninja...

If you have no money troubles I would get a Gateway. Save the CIA installs for games you know you are going to play a lot, and the Gateway card for ones you want to just try out. Installing each game can take about half an hour, and uninstalling is tricky. Plus, you can have loads more games with a Gateway as you can fill up the 3DS' SD card with CIAs and the Gateway's SD card with roms. CFW means you are limited to one SD card.
Using a Gateway also means you don't have to download anything, if you have low internet allowance - you can dump the rom of a cartridge and put it in the Gateway card to play right away. So you can borrow games off friends or buy from shops and return the next day.
CFW is fine if you don't want to spend the money to get a flashcart. It will be more complicated (for example you will have to downgrade if you don't want to buy a copy of cubic ninja I think).
Install times very by your Microsd cards read/write speeds also you don't have to downgrade at all and the way things are going its much better to stay above 9.0.

You don't need Cubic Ninja ask how to install rxTools using 6.0 MSET

That depends on your microSD write speed. It literally takes hours for me. Many N3DS users prefer not removing the back plate all the time. And you still have to buy a large SD for each 3DS if you have multiple systems.

If you don't downgrade then you need Cubic Ninja as far as I know. So that defeats the not buying anything thing.

It pops off in 2 seconds since you don't need the screws tightened.

MSET will be finished when the devs come back so Cubic Ninja will not be needed for Old 3DS's

Wow that's pretty cool. I feel sorry for the Gateway company. Do you have a link so I can read about it?

Everything is moving really fast in the main thread so I can't quote anyone specific I know ReiNand should have New 3DS MSET working soon so again Cubic Ninja won't be needed anymore. Remember the Devs are away so the main thread has not been updates in about a week.

Man, it's like an Epeen battle between those who are devoted to CFW & those devoted to flashcarts.

If you don't want to spend extra money use CFW.

If you don't mind buying a Gateway as well, go for it. You'll have the ability to bounce between whichever suits you best.

Edit: My perspective - I bought a gateway well before cfw support for the N3ds.
Had cfw come out prior, I probably would have just gone with that. Since I do have a gateway card, I still prefer to use it over cfw. I find running games from the cart as .3ds/.3dz much simpler / efficient that doing everything through .cia.

CFW does everything gateway does at this point except for RAW save dumping and cartridge dumping which will come for sure since the gateway launcher has been decrypted already. Im just trying to save someone from spending 70+ on something they don't need and does less than the free option, come 1 month ago I would suggest gateway all the way over palentine's CFW which required downgrading and was super risky.

Holy hell that was allot to type out.
