categories lite, i have it installed but for the psx games i use the cat prefix.
will that still be needed yes ?

what changes? i mean i still have another folder titled as uncategorized and in that there are the psp isos.
still on 4.1 , will update later.

well in XMB if you go to "system update" and use that it will update to 4.2 auto with out you needing to anything else.
I tried this on vita tv, didn't work, but it works on vita portable, anyone else having the same problem?

Also i thought kingdom hearts birth by sleep was already released in English? O_o

What I want is the DAX compression support, I wont update till that.

The DAX format is pretty much obselete now. It is slower to decompress whilst playing the game and slightly heavier on memory than CSO. It did have features for tweaking compression and leaving video/audio files uncompressed to reduce lag but both of these features are in CSO as well now thanks to kapoue3 and Cisoplus! which sealed the DAX format's fate (that and the fact there is no plugin for the custom firmwares, DAX is for devhook only).

JSO was created to try and be faster to decompress than CSO to try and cure the lag problem in the rare games that still lag on low compression (like the GTA games). Like the DAX format there are no plugins for the custom firmwares so this format pretty much dies too.

CSO has been the preferred standard for some time now and even though a few rare games like GTA do have problems i can't see this situation changing anytime soon. In fact if the CSO driver in the custom firmware could be optimized slightly to cure the GTA problem it would be perfect, though having the seen the source for the driver i don't think it wouldn't be easy to optmize. Who knows.

I converted my favourite games to dax although they were already cso. Saved a lot of space and I'm on LME 2.3 on my two PSP GOs so no need for any plugin there is a cfw supporting it.

I've noticed after updating to 4.2 that a corrupt file that I can't delete has appeared. (In the games menu on PSP xmb)

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Edit: Apparently a VIDEO folder was added in pspemu/iso/. Deleting that folder gets rid of the corrupt file.

So are video umd's supported now, or you accidentally made the folder with that title?

No the folder was automatically made when I updated to 4.2. Someone on Reddit mentioned it might've been to make sure the sorting feature worked.

I'm unsure if video UMDs work now or not.
