Brazil is just like any other country in the world, there are dangerous places and there are nice places. Too bad that our dangerous places are more dangerous than usual.
Since you live in Argentina, I reccommend you go in a vacation in Santa Catarina, which borders Argentina, you'll see how good Brazil can be. There's a bunch of tourists from there over here every year and I've befriended a couple of them
