Question: Is this a 100% safe method of using CFW and then safely removing it?
1. Disconnect all WiFi options/turn on airplane
2. Enter RCM, make full NAND backup
3. Use CFW until no longer wanted
4. Simply restore NAND?

Only way you can go online without getting ban is restoring a clean NAND backup along with the boot0/boot1 before you started messing around with CFW.

Pretty much. But if you update after you start using cfw your old nand backup will no longer boot due to a discrepancy in fuse count. So if you want to keep it really clean and not lose any save progress you will have to dump all of your saves, restore your clean nand, then update, turn on airplane mode, enter RCM and make a new clean backup, boot cfw and restore your saves and reinstall all of your games.

What happens to the save files after the restoring of nand backup? And if they are destroyed can I simply put them back in or will there be a discrepancy on official firm

Ah, so if you play a game on CFW, then restore nand, there’s no way to keep it backup the save in an official manner?

So after restoring the nand/boot1/0, I can delete everything off the SD right? There's nothing important on it?
