so today i decided im going to buy an r4i gold rts card and im going through the process and im stuck at the final step he asks me to send the money to his paypal and leaves an email address to send too i go onto paypal and im honestly not sure how to pay to his email

Then you selected the wrong option. Send money - items or service - enter email - enter amount - click send
Don't select friends or family or similar options.

I feel like im being an idiot because i click on this type in his account type in the amount and when i click continue it asks for country and name sorry im having so much trouble here i barely use paypal

Yup that should be the option I meant. Are you forced to enter country and name there, or can you click continue without them? And are you sure you are using the right email address that the nds-card guys sent you? I guess if Paypal does not know the email address at all it asks for additional data, at least I remember something like that.
Maybe an American user can shine in, but at least here in Europe Paypal does not ask any additional things (well except the amount of course) when you enter a valid paypal registrated email address unter "Pay for goods or services".

Don't feel bad, Paypal is a nightmare from the UI point of view :p This is nothing compared to searching the options for paying in other currencies without paypal fixing the exchange rate, its hidden so deep that it takes easily an hour to find it.

Really double check the email address, still think it could be some typo or something like that. Or ask somebody else who ordered from nds-card if they were sent the same email address you got?
Heads up, Im sure it will work out :)
